Lecturer in Sociolinguistics for Language Education

UCL Centre for Applied Linguistics. Lecturer in Sociolinguistics for Language Education, Ref:1759947. Grade:  8, Full Time.  Salary (inclusive of London allowance): £43,884 – £51,769 per annum.

Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Sociolinguistics for Language Education. The successful candidate is required to make a major contribution to the range of Master’s programmes in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, and to research and administration in the Centre for Applied Linguistics, including programme management, supervising PhDs, and carrying out first-class research activities.

The postholder should have a PhD in Sociolinguistics, Linguistic Ethnography and Discourse Studies with specific reference to language education, and a successful track record of research through publications of international significance. Expertise and experience in teaching and researching one or more specialist areas of Sociolinguistics, Linguistic Ethnography and Discourse Studies with specific reference to language education, migration and multilingualism is essential, together with knowledge of the international context for ELT and second language learning, and an understanding of different methodologies used in these fields.
