General Information:
The 2011 Medieval and Renaissance Music Conference will take place for the first time in Spain at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in the heart of Barcelona (C/ Carme 47). We have received an unprecedented number of excellent proposals and more than 140 have been accepted as papers and for poster sessions from scholars all over the world. The conference promises to fulfil its role as the annual forum for lively discussion of all aspects of Medieval and Renaissance music in the beautiful surroundings of a Mediterraean city. We very much look forward to seeing you here!

All sessions will take place at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC) except for the opening and closing meetings and the two key-note presentations which will be held in the Aula Magna of the Facultat de Geografia i Història of the University of Barcelona (c/ Montalegre 6), five minutes’s walk from the IEC.
There will be a concert (T.L. de Victoria programme by Musica Reservata de Barcelona), a reception will be held on Wednesday 6 July, and the Conference Dinner will be on Thursday 7 July.

Please note that the timetable will reflect the Spanish tradition of longer break at lunchtime.

The Conference will begin on Tuesday 5 July at 10:30 am and finish on Friday 8 July at 1:30 pm. Conference Registration will open at 9:00 am at the IEC ( c/ Carme 47) and the welcoming meeting will take place from 10:30 to 11:00 at the Aula Magna of the Facultat de Geografia i Història of the University of Barcelona ( c/ Montalegre 6).
The first session will start at 11:30 at the IEC.
